Computers and online booking systems and any other permutations of new tech for the salon, that get’s ejaculated out of the minds of capitalist inventors, in vain attempts to change something, or the false notion of making life easier, is in actuality an unnecessary experience and making the working world of hairdressing so much harder to control.
Clients know shit when it comes to the appointment system and process of hair services, timing and the neuances of any service in the salon should not be put in the hands of the clients. Why simply because they are not the professional, they don’t have the behind the scenes knowledge of running a column or appointments proper spacing and timing. It’s also too much to explain and educate clients to be able to understand because they don’t care about that stuff. Clients don’t care about how stressful it is or the need for skin testing when changing salon or the actual length of time for any given services. No they just want their hair done! Why give them the control over our professionalism and then held accountable when things go wrong due to their errors!?
I’m just tired and fed up of technology in the salon failing and messing the day up. Bring back simple book and pencil!
